During the famed Quad Wars from the 1970, the AS-1080 was to be Akai's definite answer to competitors such as the Marantz 4400 and Sansui's QRX-9001. In fact, this was one of the last  Quadzillas to reach stores.
This is the European version of this model - does not have a Dolby Noise Reduction stage. This particular unit had its main power transformer swapped with the American version, so it's now running on 100/110 V. I cannot guarantee full operation in all four channels. The wooden case is also in want of restauration.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced vintage Akai technician to bring back to life sound and music as most humans do not get to hear, nowadays.
